The Pitco Spark Lighter is a direct replacement ignition device for Pitco commercial gas fryers. It generates the high-voltage spark necessary to ignite the pilot burner or main burner upon each startup cycle. Using the correct spark lighter ensures compatibility with the fryer's ignition system, proper spark energy output, and a reliable light-off on every ignition attempt.
Over time, the spark lighter's electrode tip can erode, accumulate carbon deposits, or crack its ceramic insulator from repeated high-voltage discharge and exposure to the hot burner environment, resulting in a weak spark, misfires, or a complete failure to generate a spark. Ignition failures caused by a degraded spark lighter lead to fryer lockouts and require manual intervention to reset, disrupting kitchen workflow. Replacing the spark lighter with a compatible part restores full spark energy and reliable burner ignition.
Installation involves removing the old lighter from its mounting bracket in the burner area, connecting the ignition cable to the new lighter, and positioning the electrode at the correct gap relative to the burner.
