PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Steam Trap for Cleveland Part# 22551

Details
The Steam Trap (Part# 22551) is a Cleveland-compatible replacement steam trap for use in Cleveland commercial steam-jacketed kettles and steam distribution systems. The steam trap is a critical component that automatically discharges condensate from the steam jacket or piping while holding live steam in the system, essential for maintaining efficient heat transfer, preventing water hammer, and maximizing the thermal efficiency of the steam-heated cooking process.
Steam traps operate continuously in the harsh steam environment and can fail in either the open or closed position. A trap stuck open continuously vents live steam, wasting energy and reducing jacket pressure. A trap stuck closed causes condensate to accumulate in the jacket, reducing heat transfer efficiency, causing uneven cooking, and potentially leading to water hammer that stresses steam piping and jacket connections.
Steam trap replacement requires the steam system to be fully shut down, depressurized, and cooled before work begins. Isolate the trap, remove the old trap from the line, and inspect the inlet and outlet fittings for scale or corrosion. Install the new Steam Trap in the correct flow direction as indicated by the arrow on the trap body, reconnect all fittings, and slowly restore steam pressure to confirm proper condensate discharge and steam retention.
