PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Switch(Rckr,Dpdt,On-Off- N,Tt) for Pitco Part# PP10098

Details
The Pitco Switch(Rckr,Dpdt,On-Off- N,Tt) is a direct replacement double-pole double-throw rocker switch for Pitco commercial fryers, providing simultaneous on-off control of two independent circuit branches from a single actuator, which is used in applications where two circuits must be switched together such as a dual-phase filter motor or a combined heat and pump circuit. The tactile rocker actuator provides clear on-off indication and a positive-feel action appropriate for commercial kitchen use. Using the correct DPDT switch ensures the proper panel fit, current rating per pole, and terminal layout for the specific Pitco application.
Over time, the contacts in a DPDT switch can wear unevenly across the two poles, causing one circuit branch to fail while the other continues to operate, leading to confusing partial-function symptoms that are difficult to diagnose without electrical testing. Grease and moisture infiltration into the actuator housing accelerates contact corrosion and can cause both poles to fail simultaneously. Replacing the worn switch with the Pitco-compatible DPDT rocker unit restores reliable simultaneous switching of both circuit branches and eliminates the diagnostic complexity of asymmetric contact failure.
Replacement involves disconnecting all terminals, pressing the old switch out of the panel cutout, and installing the new switch with wires reconnected in the same pole and terminal positions as the original. It is recommended to test both circuit branches individually after installation to confirm that both poles of the new switch are making reliable contact. Pairing switch replacement with a wiring harness inspection ensures the full circuit served by the DPDT switch is operating correctly after the repair.
