PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Introducing our 36" coaxial thermopile designed for Pitco Part # P5047541. This thermopile generates a voltage range of 250-750 mV and features threads compatible with 3/8"-32 connections, ensuring reliable performance in your equipment.

Details
The Pitco Thermopile is a direct replacement thermopile assembly for Pitco commercial gas fryers that use a standing pilot system, generating the millivolt electrical output that holds the gas valve open once the pilot flame is established. The thermopile consists of a series of thermocouples connected in series to produce a higher voltage than a single thermocouple, providing enough power to operate the gas valve without requiring external electrical power. Using the correct thermopile ensures the proper output voltage, lead length, and connector type for the specific Pitco gas valve and fryer model.
Over time, thermopiles degrade as the thermoelectric junctions oxidize and their voltage output decreases below the minimum threshold needed to keep the gas valve's holding coil energized, causing the pilot to go out or the main burner to fail to stay lit. A weak thermopile is one of the most common causes of nuisance pilot outages in commercial gas fryers and can be misdiagnosed as a gas supply problem or a dirty pilot orifice. Replacing the worn thermopile with the Pitco-compatible part restores the full rated millivolt output and reliable gas valve operation.
Replacement involves disconnecting the thermopile leads from the gas valve, unscrewing the thermopile from the pilot assembly, and threading in the replacement unit to the correct snug fit without overtightening. It is recommended to measure thermopile output voltage with a millivolt meter before replacement to confirm the diagnosis and again after installation to verify output meets the gas valve's minimum specification. Pairing thermopile replacement with a cleaning of the pilot burner orifice and an inspection of the pilot hood alignment will ensure the complete pilot system operates reliably.
