The Pitco Toggle Switch 1/2 SPDT Ctr-Off is a direct replacement single-pole double-throw center-off toggle switch for Pitco commercial fryers. This three-position switch can direct a single circuit to one of two output paths or rest in the center-off position, making it ideal for selector and mode-switching applications on the fryer control panel. Using the correct part guarantees the proper contact rating, mounting thread size, and detent mechanism for reliable three-position operation.
Over time, the contact surfaces within an SPDT switch wear from repeated switching and arcing, while the center-off detent spring can fatigue, allowing the lever to drift from the center position and cause unexpected circuit activation. These failures can result in loss of mode control or erratic fryer behavior that is difficult to diagnose without isolating the switch. Replacing the switch with a compatible SPDT Ctr-Off unit restores clean three-position control.
The switch mounts through a standard 1/2-inch panel hole and is secured with a jam nut and lock washer. It is recommended to replace the switch whenever the center-off position does not hold firmly or when either output circuit becomes unreliable.
