The 1/2 in M x 1/2 in M, NPT Brass Gas Valve With Left Handle (Part# 226104M) is a genuine OEM Town Food Service replacement part for use in Town stock pot ranges and wok ranges. Manual gas valves give the operator direct control of gas flow, and smooth, positive valve operation is essential for both cooking control and safety. This brass gas valve with 1/2-inch male NPT connections on both ends includes a left-hand lever for positive burner control at the front rail.
Gas valves wear from thousands of on-off cycles in daily service. Symptoms of a worn valve include a handle that turns hard or grinds, a valve that will not shut off completely, gas odor around the valve body, or a plug that seizes when the range cools down. Hard operation can often be corrected with approved gas valve grease, but a leaking or seized valve should be replaced.
Valve replacement must be performed by a qualified service technician with the gas supply shut off and the manifold de-pressurized. Disconnect the piping, remove the old valve, and install the new 1/2 in M x 1/2 in M, NPT Brass Gas Valve With Left Handle using a pipe thread sealant rated for fuel gas.
