PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Town Food Service 252238 is an original Town Food Service replacement component designed for commercial wok ranges, stockpots, and rice equipment, helping maintain heat control, safety, and durability in busy kitchens.

Details
The 36 in Heavy Duty Thermocouple (Part# 252238) is a genuine OEM Town Food Service replacement part for use in Town gas ranges and cooking equipment. The thermocouple sits in the pilot flame and generates the small millivolt signal that holds the gas safety valve open; if the pilot goes out, the signal collapses and the valve shuts off gas flow automatically. This 36-inch heavy duty thermocouple uses a more robust tip and lead construction built for the high-heat environment around jet and ring burners.
Thermocouples are consumable parts that degrade from constant exposure to flame. A failing thermocouple produces the familiar symptom of a pilot that lights but will not stay lit once the safety valve button is released. Soot buildup, a mispositioned tip, or a damaged lead will produce the same complaint and should be ruled out during diagnosis.
Thermocouple replacement is one of the most common gas service tasks: shut off the gas, unscrew the thermocouple lead from the safety valve, free the tip from the pilot bracket, and install the new 36 in Heavy Duty Thermocouple with the upper portion of the tip positioned directly in the pilot flame. Tighten the valve connection snugly without over-torquing, then light the pilot and confirm the safety valve holds.
