Transformers can fail due to winding insulation breakdown from prolonged high temperatures, moisture ingress, voltage surges, or age-related wear in high-cycle kitchen environments. Symptoms of a failing transformer include control panels that fail to illuminate, solenoid valves that do not actuate, or intermittent equipment lockouts even when line voltage is confirmed at the main terminals.
Transformer replacement on Cleveland equipment should be performed by a qualified service technician with the unit isolated from its power source.
