The Pitco Transformer is a genuine OEM replacement step-down transformer for Pitco commercial gas fryers that use low-voltage control circuits, converting the incoming line voltage to the 24V AC or other control voltage required to operate gas valves, ignition modules, and safety circuits. It provides electrically isolated, stable control power that protects sensitive electronic components from line voltage fluctuations. Using the correct OEM transformer ensures the proper primary and secondary winding voltages, VA rating, and connector configuration for the specific Pitco fryer model.
Over time, transformers can fail from overheating caused by shorted secondary loads, prolonged operation in high-ambient-temperature environments, or internal winding insulation breakdown. A failed transformer results in a complete loss of control power, leaving the fryer inoperative regardless of the condition of the gas supply and other components. Replacing the faulty transformer with the Pitco OEM unit restores the correct control voltage and restarts the fryer's ability to ignite, regulate temperature, and activate safety cutouts.
