The Pitco Valve,Drain is a direct replacement drain valve for Pitco commercial deep fryers, designed to provide positive on-off control of hot cooking oil flow from the fry vat to the drain line during oil changes, filtration operations, and vat boil-out cleaning procedures. The valve is engineered to withstand continuous contact with high-temperature cooking oil and to operate reliably for thousands of open-close cycles over its service life. Using the correct drain valve ensures the proper port size, handle geometry, and inlet/outlet thread configuration for the specific Pitco fryer model.
Over time, drain valves develop internal seat leaks from carbonized oil deposits and scale buildup that prevent the valve plug from seating fully, allowing hot oil to seep through a nominally closed valve and drip from the drain line. Stem packing can also degrade and allow oil to leak around the valve shaft, creating burn and slip hazards for kitchen staff. Replacing the worn valve with the Pitco-compatible Valve,Drain restores a positive, leak-free shutoff that allows safe, controlled draining of hot oil.
Replacement involves draining residual oil from the vat, removing the old valve from its pipe connection using a wrench, and installing the new valve with appropriate high-temperature pipe thread sealant.
